Systems thinkers, choreographers, creatives and more joined our latest Sense Virtual Meet-Up to connect and have an open-minded conversation about our hopes for the future!

By Rakshita Arvind

The virtual meet-ups with The Sense Network create an opportunity for global network members to be transported across the globe through Zoom – to connect with those whom we may not have had the chance to meet otherwise.

We couldn’t have summed up the biggest take-away from the meet better than Irene: “It was lovely to be part of a very diverse and interesting group of people, who at the same time all share values and principles such as positivity and creativity. Whatever creativity may mean to each of us…”

Here are some of the highlights from conversations…

  • Starting new projects and learning to balance all of our new side-hustles: Many of us have started to widen our focus onto new ventures, starting initiatives we’re passionate about and more! How might we not only make the best use of our 24 hours, but also ensure to have some time to ourselves to reflect and learn from all of the things we get upto in a day?
  • Turning ideas into action. How learnings from choreography can help us find ways of acting on and realising creative strategies!
  • Creativity for all: Creative ways of working shouldn’t be limited to just a fair few. We believe that everyone is creative. We all apply creative and imaginative ways of approaching various aspects of our personal and professional lives!
  • Hopefulness, open-minded curiosity and embracing an uncertain future: It was great to end on a positive note as we shared our hopes for the future!

Here are some of the suggestions, references and links shared from you all:

  • ‘All creativity comes from the unconscious.’ A fascinating talk by John Cleese on the creative state of mind!
  • Listen to our new podcast with Joanne here! And also check out her new initiative to help develop ideas and promote creative thinking: Faster Ideas.
  • How might a prolonged period of time without touch impact our future? A really interesting article on ‘Skin Hunger’ and the effects of the loss of touch during COVID on our wellbeing!
We run our Virtual Meet-Up’s every month. Look out for the next one to connect with like-minded people from worlds unlike your own. And let amazing things happen when our worlds collide!
